Rico Design Therapy Scissors – Dual-Handle Scissors, 17 cm

Rico Design therapy scissors – cutting together with a double handle

The Rico Design therapy scissors, also known as parent and child scissors, are intended for children's first attempts at cutting. Using the plastic double handle, an adult and a child guide the scissors together. This way you guide the cutting and craft together with the child.

The tip of the scissors is rounded. A 5 cm scale is printed on one blade, so you can measure short lengths directly on the scissors. At 17 cm long, they are a handy size.

Cutting together

You both place your fingers in the double handle and open and close the scissors together. You guide the movement while the child learns how paper is cut. Paper strips or pre-drawn straight lines are good for practising, followed later by curves and shapes. With the 5 cm scale, you can cut strips of equal width without needing a ruler.
