Prym Super Elastic Band 7 mm white – very stretchy elastic on a 50 m reel

The Prym Super Elastic Band (art. no. 910113) is a flat, smooth white elastic for sewing and repairs. According to Prym, it combines particularly high stretch with strong durability and great suppleness. The stretch is approx. 140%. The band is 7 mm wide and the reel holds 50 m. That gives you enough length for several projects, for example waistbands, cuffs or underwear.

The band is washable up to 95 °C and suitable for tumble drying. It has been tested for harmful substances according to OEKO-TEX® Standard 100.

How to use the band

For an elasticated waistband, sew a casing that is slightly wider than the elastic and leave an opening for threading it through. Pin a safety pin to the end of the elastic and push it through the casing. Secure the end at the edge of the casing so that it cannot slip back. The right length depends on your pattern. As the band gives a lot, you will usually cut it shorter than the circumference it is meant to fit. It is best to test the tension before sewing the pieces together.
