Prym White Elastic Cord – Thin Round Elastic on a Large Reel

Prym elastic cord (art. no. 971046) is a round, highly elastic cord in white with a diameter of 1.5 mm. You can use it wherever a thin, stretchy cord is needed, for example as a drawstring in a casing or for craft projects.

The reel holds 100 m. That is enough for many projects or for larger quantities, so you do not have to reorder. The cord is washable at 40 °C, so you can also use it for garments and textiles that regularly go in the washing machine.

Using the elastic cord

To thread it through a casing, pass a safety pin through the end of the cord and push it through the casing. Then knot the ends or secure them with a few stitches so the cord cannot slip back into the casing. Do not stretch the cord before cutting, otherwise the length will end up too short. For projects that need a firmer hold, this range also includes a thicker version with Ø 2.5 mm; the thin 1.5 mm cord suits fine fabrics and narrow casings.
