Prym Drawcord in White – Water-Resistant Cord for Hood and Waist

The Prym drawcord in white is a round cord, 4 mm in diameter, for threading through parkas, outdoor jackets, hoodies or gym bags. It is made of 100 % acrylic and, according to Prym, is water-resistant, colourfast and tumble dryer safe. You can wash it at up to 40 °C, so it copes with regular washing of the jacket.

Threaded through the channel at the hood or waist, it lets you adjust the width, and you fasten it with a bow or a knot. The dyed-through cord also works as a decorative trim on bags or as an appliqué on clothing. The card holds 1.5 m, which is enough for a short hood or waist cord. For a parka with a long channel, measure the channel beforehand.

Threading the cord

Attach a safety pin to the end of the cord and push it through the channel until it comes out at the other opening. Then knot the ends so the cord cannot slip back into the channel. Prym also offers the cord in black and in a 3 m length, and for professional use as a 25 m cassette.
