Flat metal key chain – ready-mounted on a key ring

The flat key chain in nickel-plated steel is the basis for handmade key charms. It comes ready-mounted on the key ring, so all you need to do is attach your charm.

With a total length of 60 mm, the charm stays compact. The chain itself is 30 mm long, and the key ring measures 30 mm across the outside and 24 mm across the inside. At approx. 7 g, the chain adds very little weight.

Making a key charm

Plan the size of your charm to suit the chain: with a total length of 60 mm, charms of a few centimetres look well balanced. Hang charms, beads or small craft pieces with a loop on a jump ring. To do this, open the ring sideways with pliers rather than pulling it apart, so that it keeps its round shape. Once the charm is attached, twist the ring closed sideways again.
