Madeira COTTON STABLE – iron-on tear-away embroidery stabiliser for jersey and stretch
Madeira COTTON STABLE (art. no. 9438) is an iron-on, tear-away embroidery stabiliser made from 100 % cotton, which you can use to embroider stretchy fabrics such as T-shirt jersey, stretch fabrics or knitted fabrics. You iron the stabiliser onto the back of the fabric, so the fabric stays firmly in place during embroidery and does not distort.
The coating is only lightly adhesive. After embroidering, you tear away the excess stabiliser without leaving any residue on the fabric. The stabiliser is also suitable for buttonholes, appliqués and computer-controlled printing.
How to use COTTON STABLE
One side of the stabiliser has a coating that sticks when heated. Place this side on the back of the fabric.
- Place the stabiliser with the adhesive side on the back of the fabric.
- Adjust the iron to suit the fabric, but do not set it higher than two dots.
- The adhesive begins to take effect after approx. 5 to 20 seconds.
- After embroidering, tear away the excess stabiliser.
When is this stabiliser suitable?
On jersey and other elastic fabrics, the ironed-on stabiliser stops the fabric from stretching during embroidery and prevents ripples. Lay the stabiliser on without tension when ironing and do not pull it, otherwise the fabric will be fixed in a stretched state. When tearing away, hold the stitching in place with one hand so that the embroidery does not distort.
