Prym fusible hemming thread – hems with an invisible seam

With Prym fusible hemming thread, you can sew hems with no visible seam on the outside. The transparent thread has an adhesive property and can be used with an overlocker or a sewing machine. It is made of 84% polyamide and 16% polyester. The card holds 40 m of thread, and instructions for use are included.

According to Prym, the bond is washable up to 40 °C. That suits clothing and home textiles that you wash regularly.

Hemming with an invisible seam

On the overlocker, place the thread in the lower looper. Use it first to finish the cut edge of the fabric, with a wide zigzag stitch on the sewing machine. Then fold the hem to the inside and iron it in place from the right side. When ironing, follow the instructions for use supplied. A test piece made from your fabric will show you beforehand whether the bond holds and whether the fabric can take the heat.
