Mirasol Winqu – cotton and silk knitting yarn for summer

Mirasol Winqu is a knitting yarn in 85 % Tanguis cotton and 15 % silk for spring and summer. Each ball weighs 100 g and has approx. 170 m (185 yds). The yarn comes in solid colours. Choose your colour from the options.

The silk content gives the cotton yarn a little sheen. Winqu is loosely spun with a slight thick-and-thin effect, which gives the knitted fabric a lively look. With needle size 4.5–5.5 mm you can knit it into airy pieces such as summer jumpers, tops, shawls or scarves.

What Winqu is suited to

The blend of cotton and silk is less warm than wool, so it suits pieces you wear in summer or in spring and autumn. Cotton has less spring than wool: if you are knitting garments, choose a pattern that is not too loose so that the shape holds when worn. The length per ball helps with planning quantities: at approx. 170 m per 100 g, you can convert the yarn requirements of your pattern into balls. For larger pieces, buy all the balls at once so that the colour stays consistent.

Working and care

The manufacturer gives 16–20 stitches over 10 cm in stocking stitch, and 11 double crochet over 10 cm for crochet. What matters is the tension given in your pattern; the figure on the ball band is only a guide. The manufacturer's care symbols show machine wash at 30 °C on a gentle cycle, do not bleach, tumble dry on low heat or dry flat, and iron at medium temperature.
