Gütermann rPET Sew-All Thread Set Assortment 1 – 10 colours in recycled polyester

The Gütermann rPET sew-all thread set Assortment 1 contains 10 reels of sew-all thread, No. 100, with 100 m each, making 1,000 m in total. The thread is made from 100% recycled polyester (rPET) and can be used for both machine and hand sewing.

Gütermann makes the thread using Micro Core Technology®, a core-spinning process based on microfilaments. The set contains ten colours: 00 (black), 800 (white), 722, 696, 156, 339, 143, 824, 701 and 38. With black and white you have two basic colours that you need for many fabrics.

What the set is suited to

According to Gütermann, you can use the thread for joining seams, topstitching and fine decorative stitches, by machine or by hand. The manufacturer lists light to medium-weight and heavy clothing and furnishing fabrics, as well as knitwear, as suitable fabrics. With ten reels you can keep colours ready for several projects instead of buying each colour separately.

Assortment 1 or another set?

The rPET sets differ in their colour selection; Assortment 3, for example, has different colour numbers. Before buying, compare the numbers with your fabrics, as colours may look different on screen.

Sewing with the thread

For the sewing machine, Gütermann recommends a universal needle NM 80–90. Before starting your actual project, sew a test seam on a fabric scrap so that you can set the thread tension and stitch length.
