Gütermann Extra Fine Sewing Thread Set – 7 colours for fine, lightweight fabrics

The Gütermann Extra Fine sewing thread set contains 7 reels of polyester thread, 200 m each, 1,400 m in total. The thread in weight 150 is fine yet tear-resistant. You can use it for joining seams, neatening, decorative stitches and buttonholes on thin, delicate fabrics.

The fine thread adds very little bulk, so seams on fabrics such as silk, batiste or voile stay flat and barely visible. As the set comes with seven colours, it covers many fabrics without having to buy single reels separately. You can sew with a domestic machine or by hand.

Fabrics and seams

The thread is intended for very fine, lightweight fabrics, for example silk, batiste or voile. With the recommended universal needle NM 60–70, you get clean stitches without unnecessary damage to the fabric. On thin fabrics the thread is suitable for buttonholes, fine decorative stitches and decorative seams. Always sew a test piece on a fabric scrap before starting on the actual item. A blunt needle can distort fine fabrics or pull threads, so change it in good time.
