The Faber-Castell Pitt Artist Pen Metallic 1.5 set of 4 contains four ink pens with pigmented metallic drawing ink for sketches, illustrations, lettering and layouts. The colours are Gold (250), Silver (251), Ruby Metallic (290) and Blue Metallic (292). The line width is 1.5 mm.

According to Faber-Castell, the ink is opaque, even on dark paper. You can use it to lay down metallic lines on black or dark blue paper, where ordinary ink pens would barely show. There is no need to pump or shake the pen: it is ready to use straight away, like a fineliner.

What the metallic pens are used for

Pitt Artist Pen offers the advantages of classic artists' ink in an uncomplicated drawing pen. The pigments are lightfast, and the ink is acid-free and pH-neutral, so the pens are also intended for work that should last. The ink does not bleed through the paper, so you can also use both sides of a sketchbook page.

How to use

Test the colours first on an offcut of your paper, as metallic shades look different on light and dark backgrounds. Let a line dry before you work over it or rest your hand on it.
