Sakura Pen-Touch UV pen – mark invisibly, glow light blue under black light

The Sakura Pen-Touch UV pen is a paint marker with UV-visible ink for marks you cannot see in normal light. Under UV light or black light, they glow light blue.

According to Sakura, the ink is alcohol-based and pigmented, xylene-free and low-odour. It is described as waterproof, lightfast and chemical-resistant, so your marking stays legible even under strain. Sakura lists industrial applications, security marking and secret notes as areas of use. Choose the line width from the options.

Using the pen

The Pen-Touch is a valve-action pen. The ink only flows when you press the tip down.

• Shake well with the cap on before first use.
• Hold the pen upright and press the tip down until ink flows.
• Do not pump excessively, or too much ink will come out.
• Close the pen firmly after writing and store it horizontally.

Uses and surfaces

Sakura lists metal, glass, wood, plastic and paper as suitable surfaces. In everyday use, you can use the pen for security markings, hidden notes, escape-room effects or glowing details in art projects. Test it first on the material you want to use, as adhesion depends on the surface. The marking can be removed from smooth, non-porous surfaces with alcohol or lacquer thinner. Work at 5–40 °C.
