The LAMY Z 50 nib in polished finish is a replacement nib made of polished steel for LAMY fountain pens. You fit it when your nib is bent or worn, or when you would like to try a different line width. It fits all LAMY models except the LAMY 2000, whose nib is constructed differently. You receive a single nib; choose the nib width from the options.

Which nib width suits you?

The nib width determines the line width: the finer the nib, the thinner and more precise the line; the broader the nib, the bolder and softer the writing. For LAMY, the Z 50 nibs range from EF (extra fine) through F (fine), M (medium) and B (broad) to left-handed and beginner nibs as well as calligraphic widths. Fine nibs suit small handwriting and notes, while medium and broad nibs give more expressive writing.

How to change the nib

Gently pull the old nib forwards off the nib holder and slide the new one on as far as it will go, without tilting it. Do not touch the tip of the nib or bend it, so that the tines are not pushed apart. Then write a few lines on absorbent paper until the ink flows evenly.
