Botz 9529 Rosenquarz liquid glaze is an opaque, satin-finish glaze in a soft pink for bisque-fired ceramics. It is based on glaze 9526 Champagner and shows soft, cloudy flecks that vary depending on the clay body. The pot contains 800 ml.

The glaze is stable within a firing range of 1020–1060 °C and can be fired up to 1100 °C. As the flecks depend on the clay body, it is worth making a test piece from your own clay before you glaze a large piece.

Application

Brush the glaze onto ceramics that have previously been bisque-fired at 950 °C or above. Apply each coat evenly and let it dry before applying the next. This gives a more even colour finish.

• Stir the glaze well; thin with a little water if needed
• Apply with a brush and allow to dry thoroughly
• Apply a further coat if needed
• Fire within the range of 1020–1060 °C; firing up to 1100 °C is possible

Choosing within the range

Rosenquarz is a soft, light pink. The glaze 9526 Champagner, on which it is based, is a cream white. If you are looking for a stronger pink with running speckles, take a look at 9528 Mandelblüte. Rosenquarz is also available in a smaller 200 ml pot, handy for individual pieces and test tiles.
