Caran d'Ache 849 Black Code Set – ballpoint pen and pencil in metal case

Caran d'Ache 849 Black Code – ballpoint pen and mechanical pencil in a metal case

The 849 Black Code set (art. no. 8490.496) from Caran d'Ache combines a ballpoint pen and a mechanical pencil in black. You write with one and sketch or make notes in pencil with the other. Both have a hexagonal aluminium barrel that is light and sturdy. The clip and push button are metal with a matt black chrome coating. According to the manufacturer, the barrel is glossy black with a micro-sandblasted finish.

The set comes in a metal pencil case in glossy black with the logo inside and out. The foam insert has matching recesses for both pens. It is from the Black Edition and is Swiss Made.

What is in the set

Everything you need is already included, so you can start straight away:

• Ballpoint pen with black Goliath refill, medium (M) line width
• Mechanical pencil with 0.7 mm HB graphite lead
• Eraser and lead reservoir in the mechanical pencil, accessible by removing the push button
• Metal pencil case with foam insert for storage

Which version is this?
