Caran d'Ache 849 Black Code ballpoint pen, matt black aluminium

Caran d'Ache 849 Black Code – matt black ballpoint pen with metal case

The Caran d'Ache 849 Black Code is a retractable ballpoint pen with a hexagonal aluminium barrel, finished entirely in matt black and made in Switzerland. The clip and push button are also chrome-plated in matt black, giving the pen a uniformly dark, understated look. According to the manufacturer, it belongs to the 849 Gift Line (Black Edition) and comes in a glossy black Slim Pack, a metal case. That makes it ready to give as a gift or to keep safely.

Writing with the Goliath refill

The pen is fitted with a black Caran d'Ache Goliath refill in line width M. M gives a medium line that stays easy to read for notes and signatures. When the refill runs out, you simply insert a new one: the pen is refillable and takes Goliath refills. So there is no need to replace the pen itself.

Barrel, clip and case

The hexagonal aluminium barrel sits securely in the hand thanks to its edges and does not roll away easily on a desk. The flexible clip holds the pen on a notebook, shirt pocket or document folder. The Slim Pack protects the matt surface when you carry the pen in a bag or present it as a gift.
