The Prym bamboo straight knitting needle set contains 10 pairs of needles from 3.0 to 8.0 mm, so you can work jumpers, cardigans, scarves and other pieces knitted flat in the most common sizes. All the needles are 33 cm long and come in a green and beige case made of 100 % cotton, so you can keep the whole assortment tidy and close to hand.

Bamboo feels light and warm. The surface is smooth with a good grip, and the tips are precisely shaped and free of splinters. A knob at the end of each needle stops the stitches slipping off. The needle size is marked in the middle of every needle, so you can read the size even when a single needle is pulled out.

Which sizes are included?

The set covers the range from 3.0 to 8.0 mm, including the in-between sizes 3.25 and 3.75 mm. This is handy if your pattern calls for a fine gradation or if you want to try a needle one size finer or coarser for your tension swatch. Please note that 6.5 and 7 mm are not included; 6.0 mm is followed directly by 8.0 mm.

Using the straight knitting needles

Straight knitting needles have a knob at one end and a point at the other. You knit backwards and forwards in rows, for example for back, front and sleeve pieces. What matters is the tension given in your pattern; the figure on the ball band is only a guide. Knit a swatch with the recommended needle size and, if your stitch count differs, change to the next size from the set. After knitting, simply slip the needles back into the case.
