Prym sew-on press studs 6 mm – small black brass fasteners

Prym's black sew-on press studs are small fasteners for sewing by hand onto clothing and accessories. At 6 mm in diameter they are discreet, for example on lightweight fabrics or wherever a small fastener is enough.

Each press stud consists of a socket part and a ball part. The ball part has a rolled edge, which protects the fabric from sharp edges. Four holes help you sew the stud on evenly and securely. The pack contains 12 pieces, enough for several fastenings.

Sewing on the press studs

First use a pin or chalk to mark the position where the ball part and socket part meet exactly. Then sew each part on separately: pass the thread through the four holes, ideally doubled, and stitch through each hole several times. Fasten off the thread well at the end so that the stud does not work loose with frequent opening and closing. If the parts are sewn on out of line, the fastener will not close properly. Before sewing them down, therefore, check that both parts sit exactly on top of each other.
