Rayher Wooden Box with Drawer – Blank to Decorate

The Rayher wooden box (art. no. 62601000) is a blank in untreated wood with a pull-out drawer. You can decorate it as you like for your own DIY projects, for example as small storage for jewellery, notes or small craft items. With outer dimensions of 20 × 10 × 5 cm, it is easy to handle and simple to work on at a table.

The box is open at both ends, and the drawer can be pushed all the way through. This means you can pull the drawer out from either side. The wood carries the FSC label (FSC Mix Credit) and, according to Rayher, comes from responsibly managed forests.

Will your items fit?

What matters is the inner size of the drawer, which is 19.2 × 8.4 × 3.8 cm. The outer dimensions are larger because of the wall thickness. Before planning to store pens, cards or jewellery, check the inner size rather than the outer dimensions.

Decorating the box

You can paint the untreated wood, cover it with napkin or paper motifs, or decorate it in other ways. First sand the surface lightly with fine sandpaper and remove the dust so that paint or glue sticks evenly. Take the drawer out for painting and apply the paint in thin layers. Thick layers on the edges and runners can make the drawer stick later. Leave everything to dry thoroughly before sliding it back in.
