Efco silver wire with a copper core is a silver-plated copper wire for jewellery and craft projects. It comes in 4 thicknesses from Ø 0.4 to 1.0 mm; choose the thickness from the options. Each thickness comes on a 1 kg reel.

The wire works well in jewellery making, for example for wrapping, bending and linking beads. The copper core gives the wire its flexibility, while the silver layer gives it its silver-coloured look.

Which thickness to choose

Thin wires around Ø 0.4 mm are suited to wrapping, binding and delicate links. The thicker the wire, the more stable the result, but the more force you need to bend it. Thicknesses towards Ø 1.0 mm are used to shape eyes, hooks and rings that need to hold their form.

Working with the wire

You can cut the wire to length with side cutters. Shape loops and eyes with round-nose pliers. Bend each point only as often as necessary, because repeatedly bending the wire back and forth makes it brittle at that spot, and it may break there.
