Beer Stein Plaster Mould – Bavarian Beer Mug for Slip Casting

Working with the plaster mould

The mould should be dry and dust-free before casting. Pour in the casting slip slowly so that no air bubbles form, and top up if necessary, as the plaster absorbs liquid. Once a sufficiently thick layer has formed on the mould wall, pour out the remaining slip. After it has begun to firm up, carefully remove the piece from the mould and leave it to dry completely before you fettle and fire it.
