Stoneware Engobes for Strong Color in High-Fire Ceramics
Stoneware engobes make it possible to add colored, well-defined decoration at higher firing temperatures. They are designed for ceramic projects where the decoration needs to work with a stoneware clay body and the intended high-fire schedule.
Check the Firing Range and Overglaze
BOTZ Edition is specified by the manufacturer for a firing range of 1180–1280 °C. Without an additional glaze, the surface is softly matte; with a suitable overglaze, the finish can become glossier and the color effect more intense. Always select the exact combination according to the individual product information.
Clay body, engobe, glaze and firing schedule all influence the final result. When trying a new combination, a test firing is recommended before completing a larger project.
