Décopatch PappArt standing cat, papier-mâché figure, 32 cm tall

Décopatch PappArt cat – papier-mâché figure to decoupage and paint

The Décopatch PappArt cat is an untreated papier-mâché figure in natural brown, which you can cover with paper or paint to your own ideas. It stands upright, has a raised tail and measures 32 cm high, 13.5 cm wide and 7 cm deep. The flat shape is easy to cover and looks good as a decoration on a shelf or windowsill.

The figure is supplied raw. You choose the patterns and colours yourself: with Décopatch paper, acrylic paints, glitter, sequins or stickers.

Decorating the cat

To decoupage, tear or cut Décopatch paper into small pieces, brush a thin layer of glue over the figure, lay a piece of paper on top and smooth it down with glue. The pieces can overlap, which creates a continuous surface. Use smaller pieces on the narrow ears and the tail, as this gives fewer creases. Finally, brush the whole figure once more with a thin coat of glue. If you prefer to paint, apply acrylic paint in two thin coats. Because the cardboard is dark, the brown base shows through light colours or thin paper. In that case, prime first with white acrylic paint.
