With the A4 paper making set you make paper yourself. The set contains a two-part wooden mould and deckle with screen, 2 pulp sheets, 2 felts and instructions. That gives you the basic equipment for making sheets of paper in A4 size.

The set is intended for beginners and more experienced makers, and can be used in art lessons, craft courses, workshops or at home. It is reusable, so after the first sheets you can make more. The handmade paper suits greetings cards, invitations or scrapbooking.

How to make paper

The process has six steps. You need the two felts for pressing: the freshly made sheet lies on one felt and is covered with the second.

• Prepare the paper pulp: soak waste paper or pulp in water and break it down.
• Form the sheet: scoop up the pulp with the mould and deckle and let the water drain off.
• Couch: place the paper on the felt and press it out lightly.
• Press: cover with the second felt and press out as much water as possible with clamps or boards.
• Dry: peel the paper from the felt and lay it out to dry.
• Smooth: press again before it is completely dry, then smooth with an iron.
