Textured Terrain Mat Grey Ballast – Cut-to-Size Mat for Model Landscapes

The textured terrain mat in grey ballast is a textured mat for model making and dioramas. You can use it to create ballast areas, paths or track beds in your model landscape. The mat measures 75 × 100 cm and is supplied rolled up.

You cut it to fit and glue it onto wood or paper. This way you cover larger areas with a single piece instead of scattering loose ballast. The mat is made in Germany.

Working with the mat

Unroll the mat before cutting and lay it flat so that it relaxes. Transfer the shape of your layout or diorama onto the mat and cut it out with scissors or a craft knife. Then glue the piece onto the wood or paper base. It is better to cut slightly generously and trim to size after fitting.

Grey or brown ballast?

The mat is available in grey ballast and, as a sister product, in brown gravel. Grey looks like classic track ballast or chippings, while brown looks more like earthy gravel or field tracks. If you use both areas side by side, you get a visible difference between track bed and path.
