Beadalon WildFire 0.20 mm – strong beading thread for jewellery
Beadalon WildFire in 0.20 mm is a synthetic, braided and supple beading thread with a smooth coating, made for jewellery with beads. According to Beadalon, the breaking strength is 12 lb or 5.5 kg. The thread is thermally bonded, so you do not need to pre-condition it before use. It shows almost no stretch, so threaded pieces keep their length. It is also waterproof and colourfast. The colour is abrasion-resistant and does not rub off on your fingers.
WildFire is made in the USA. The coating is so firm that the thread cannot even be pierced with a needle. This is useful when you pass the thread through beads several times and do not want it to split. Choose the spool length from the options.
Uses for WildFire
WildFire is often used together with Miyuki beads. Beadalon lists bead weaving, bead embroidery, loom work and bead knitting as uses. The smooth surface lets beads glide well, and the low stretch helps woven pieces keep their shape. At 0.20 mm and 5.5 kg breaking strength, this is the stronger of the two sizes in the series. The finer 0.15 mm size has a breaking strength of 4.5 kg and suits very fine beads with a small hole better.
Threading made easier
To make threading easier, flatten the tip with flat-nose pliers. If needed, cut the end at an angle, then thread the beads on one by one.
