Efco gold-plated eye pins – pins for joining beads and chain elements

Efco gold-plated eye pins are used in jewellery making to join beads and chain elements. Each pin is 50 mm long, 0.75 mm thick and has a small flat plate at one end with a head size of 3.0 mm. The plate keeps the bead on the pin. The pack contains 100 pieces, so you can make several pairs of earrings or a whole necklace with bead links.

Working with the pins

Thread the bead onto the pin and trim it with side cutters to about 7 to 10 mm above the bead. Bend the remainder into a loop with round-nose pliers, attach the chain element and close the loop. The hole in the bead must be larger than 0.75 mm so that it fits on the pin. It should, however, stay smaller than the 3.0 mm head, otherwise the bead will slip over the plate.
