Natural pheasant feather – long feather for costumes, hats and decorations

The natural pheasant feather is a long natural feather from the pheasant that you can use for crafting and decorating, for example for carnival costumes, hats and other DIY projects. At approx. 70–80 cm long, it makes a bold statement even if you use just a single feather.

The feather shows the pheasant's natural plumage. As a natural product, each feather differs slightly in shape and markings. If your project uses several feathers, it is best to allow a little leeway.

Using the feather

For a hat, attach the feather to the hatband: you can sew the quill in place with a few stitches or fix it with hot glue. If you want the feather shorter, cut it off at the lower end of the quill and leave the vane untouched. For decorations, stand the feather on its own in a tall vase or combine several into an arrangement. Store it dry and lying flat so that the vane does not bend.
