Pebaro Conker Craft Kit – Clamp, Drill and Make Conker Figures

The Pebaro conker craft kit contains a mushroom-shaped holder in which you clamp conkers so you can drill through them, for example for conker people and animals. The conker sits firmly and does not slip away while you drill. You do not have to hold it with your fingers, and the holes go exactly where you want them.

The kit includes two gimlets, 2 mm and 3 mm in diameter, for holes of different sizes. The 190 toothpicks serve as arms and legs, and the 10 pipe cleaners as details such as hair, antennae or scarves. Instructions for use are included.

How a conker figure is made

The process is similar for all figures; the instructions for use in the kit show you in more detail how to handle the holder.

• Clamp the conker in the holder so that it sits firmly.
• Use a gimlet to bore holes for arms and legs at the places you want.
• Push toothpicks into the holes and secure them with a little glue if needed.
• Add hair, antennae or scarves with pipe cleaners, and paint or stick on the face.

Which drill for what?

Start with the thinner 2 mm drill. If the toothpick fits too tightly or the hole is meant for a thicker stem, widen it with the 3 mm drill. Freshly collected conkers are easier to drill than conkers stored for a long time, which become hard and are more likely to split. Do not drill too close to the edge, so that the shell does not burst open, and make a trial hole in one conker before drilling all the holes.
