The Graine Créative Panda punch needle kit is a craft kit for working a panda design in punch needle. The wooden embroidery hoop is shaped like a panda's head with small ears and measures Ø 15 cm. The finished design stays in the hoop and becomes a piece of wall art.

The kit contains everything you need to get started: a square piece of fabric of approx. 25 cm, a punch needle, 31 m of wool in white, beige and black, a printed template and detailed instructions. The instructions are included in German, English, French, Italian, Spanish and Dutch. As the wool and fabric are already matched, you do not need to buy any other materials.

Working with the kit

In punch needle, you push the needle through the fabric from the back, and dense loops of yarn form on the front. For this to work, the fabric must sit taut in the hoop. Transfer the template onto the fabric as described in the instructions and work one area at a time.

• Stretch the fabric as drum-tight as possible before you start, otherwise the loops will be uneven.
• Lift the needle only slightly between stitches and do not pull it fully out of the fabric, so that loops you have already worked do not come undone.
• Place the stitches close together, as the loops will hold better.

The panda design and colour quantities

The wool is matched to the design: at 18 m, white is the largest amount, while black (10 m) and beige (3 m) are enough for the details. Plan the areas in the order given in the instructions and use the thread sparingly. The wooden hoop with the small ears remains part of the picture once it is finished, so you do not need to frame the design separately.
