With the Graine Créative punch needle kit cat, you punch a cat motif in loops of yarn. The kit contains everything you need to get started: an embroidery hoop in the shape of a cat, Ø 15 cm, fabric, a punch needle, yarn and instructions.

The hoop is part of the design: the piece stays in the hoop and, once punched, can be hung up as a small wall picture. The kit is suitable for beginners and more experienced crafters, so you need no previous experience.

Punching

First stretch the fabric tightly in the hoop, because the loops only sit evenly on a taut surface. Transfer the motif onto the fabric using the template, then follow the kit instructions to see which side you work on. Push the needle in each time as far as it will go and pull it back only far enough for the tip to stay in contact with the fabric. This stops the yarn coming loose and keeps the loops the same height. Place the stitches close together so that no fabric shows through. The needle is sharp, so work with care.
