Städter Embossed Hippo Cookie Cutter – for Dough, Fondant, Marzipan and Modelling Clay

With the Städter embossed hippo cookie cutter you can cut hippo shapes from biscuit dough, fondant or marzipan. The cutter is made of stainless steel, has a pre-embossed design and belongs to the Städter range of embossed cookie cutters.

You can also use it for crafting and modelling, for example with modelling clay, salt dough or FIMO.

Cutting out

Dust the cutter lightly with flour, or with icing sugar or cornflour for fondant and marzipan, so that nothing sticks to the edge. Press it evenly into the rolled-out dough until you feel the surface beneath, then carefully release the shape. Roll the dough to an even thickness all over: the cut will be clean and the hippos will bake evenly. Clean the cutter after use and dry it.

Crafting and modelling

With modelling clay, salt dough or FIMO you can cut out hippos for pendants, magnets or decorations. If you have used the cutter for these materials, do not use it for food afterwards.
