Städter Pepe the Football Cake Tin – Non-Stick Novelty Tin with Pentagon Cookie Cutter

The Pepe the Football novelty cake tin from Städter turns sponge batter into a football-shaped cake, for football fans on their birthday, at a tournament or at a club celebration. The metal tin has a non-stick coating (Ilaflon according to the manufacturer, made without PFAS), so the cake is easier to release after baking. With a diameter of 22 cm, a height of 11 cm and a capacity of 3000 ml, you get a cake that is clearly recognisable as a ball on the cake stand.

A pentagon cookie cutter (7 cm) for decorating is included. You can use it to cut out the typical pentagons of a football, for example from fondant or marzipan, and place them on the cake as a pattern.

Making the football cake

A firm sponge batter works well in the novelty tin because it reproduces the outline cleanly. Fill the tin only to a height at which the batter will not rise over the rim; with a capacity of 3000 ml, you should adjust the quantity of batter in your recipe accordingly. Leave the baked cake to cool briefly in the tin before turning it out, so the patterned surface stays intact. Place the pentagons cut with the cookie cutter on the cake only once it has cooled.

Caring for the non-stick coating

Wash the tin by hand with hot water, mild washing-up liquid and a soft cloth. This keeps the coating smooth for longer and the cake will release easily the next time you bake.
