With the Rayher hedgehog grasping toy kit, you make a baby toy yourself from wooden and silicone beads and a wooden hedgehog. The pack has 17 pieces and comes with illustrated instructions. You need no other materials: threading cord, beads, hedgehog and threading aid are included.

According to Rayher, the materials used are safe for sucking and saliva-resistant. That matters because babies explore a lot with their mouths in the first months. The wooden beads and the coloured silicone beads are easy to grasp.

The kit makes a personal gift for a birth or christening. The threading aid makes it easier to thread the beads onto the cord, and the instructions use pictures to show how the pieces fit together.
