Meyco Sandpaper Set, 6 Sheets, Grit 80/120/150

Meyco Sandpaper Set – 6 Sheets in Three Grits

The Meyco sandpaper set contains 6 sheets of aluminium oxide sandpaper in three grits. You can use it to sand wood, soapstone and other materials, from the first removal of material to a fine finish. Each sheet measures 23 × 28 cm. You can cut it to size for small workpieces and use it by hand.

The set contains 2 sheets of grit 80, 3 sheets of grit 120 and 1 sheet of grit 150. This graduation lets you work step by step from coarse to fine.

Which grit for what?

The lower the number, the coarser the paper. Grit 80 removes material and evens out edges or uneven areas. Grit 120 smooths out the scratches left by the coarse paper. Grit 150 sands the surface fine before you oil, varnish or polish. Aluminium oxide is also suitable for metal and painted surfaces.

How to proceed

Always work in this order without skipping a stage, otherwise deep grooves from the coarse paper will remain visible. On wood, sand in the direction of the grain. For flat surfaces, wrap the paper around a sanding block; for curves, a strip cut to size will do. Wipe off the dust between stages, otherwise loose grains will scratch the surface. Wear a dust mask when sanding dry materials.
