Prym cutting mat 30 × 45 cm – double-sided with cm and inch scales

The Prym cutting mat in orange (art. no. 611466) measures 30 × 45 cm and is designed for use with rotary cutters and craft knives. It belongs to the Omnigrid line and is printed on both sides: one side has a cm scale, the other an inch scale. This means you can also work with patterns and patchwork measurements in inches without converting.

The surface is self-healing, so cut marks close up again. This keeps the mat smooth for longer and is kinder to the blade. Printed angle markings for 45° and 90° help you line up fabric strips and cut pieces straight.

Which projects suit this size?

The mat is available in three sizes and colours. At 30 × 45 cm, the orange mat is the smallest. It fits on a small sewing table, suits cutting fabric strips and patchwork pieces, and is easy to take along to classes. For large lengths of fabric you will need a bigger mat, as otherwise you have to reposition the fabric several times.

Cutting accurately

Place the mat on a flat, firm surface and line the fabric up with a line on the scale or with the angle markings. Position a ruler and run the rotary cutter away from you in one stroke. Change the blade as soon as it no longer cuts cleanly. A blunt blade needs more pressure and leaves deeper grooves in the mat.
