Prym Omnigrid universal ruler 4 × 4 inch – transparent grid for patchwork

The Prym universal ruler 4 × 4 inch (art. no. 611472) from the Omnigrid range is a small, transparent plastic ruler with a grid for patchwork and quilting. At around 10.2 × 10.2 cm, it fits into any sewing bag and is suitable for small cuts and blocks.

According to Prym, the yellow/black printed grid keeps the markings visible on both light and dark fabrics. The underside has a scratch-resistant laser print that prevents optical distortion. The thick material guides rotary cutters and pull knives safely.

Cutting with the ruler

Place the ruler on the fabric so that the grid line you want lies exactly on the edge of the fabric or on a marked line. Because the material is transparent, you can see the pattern underneath, which helps when lining up motifs. Hold the ruler firmly with your fingers spread and run the rotary cutter along the edge, away from you. Cut on a cutting mat and always keep your fingers clear of the cutting line.

Choosing the size

At 4 × 4 inch, this ruler is suitable for small blocks and cuts as well as for checking the size of pieces. If you need a little more surface area, the series also includes a universal ruler measuring 4.5 × 4.5 inch.
