Prym Omnigrid Universal Ruler 4x8 inch – Grid Quilting Ruler

Prym Omnigrid Universal Ruler 4x8 inch – transparent grid ruler for patchwork and cutting

The Prym Omnigrid universal grid ruler 4x8 inch (art. no. 611474) is a transparent plastic ruler with a printed grid for measuring, marking and cutting fabric, for example in patchwork, dressmaking and graphic work. At 205 × 102 mm it is easy to handle and suits smaller pieces and strips.

The yellow and black grid is easy to read on both light and dark fabrics. The scratch-resistant laser print is on the underside, so there is no optical distortion when you read the measurements. The thick, hard-wearing material guides rotary cutters and pull knives safely along the edge.

Cutting with the ruler

Place the ruler with one grid line exactly on the fabric edge or on a line you have drawn beforehand. Hold it down with your flat hand, keeping your fingers well away from the blade. Always run the rotary cutter away from you along the edge of the ruler and work on a cutting mat. The 30°, 45° and 60° angle markings let you transfer slopes and corners without a separate template.

Choosing the size

At 205 × 102 mm, this ruler suits smaller pieces, strips and cuts that you can easily hold with one hand. The range is also available in other sizes, for example 1x6, 4x14 and 6.5x24 inch. For long lengths of fabric, choose one of the larger versions.
