Prym half-moon shoulder pads, size S – for set-in sleeves

The Prym half-moon shoulder pads in size S, white, shape the shoulder line on set-in sleeves, for example in blazers, jackets or knitwear. They define the shoulder, make the waist look slimmer and give the silhouette more structure. The pack contains 1 pair.

The core is made of soft foam with a cover of 100 % polyester. You sew the pads in between the lining and the outer fabric, where they sit firmly and do not slip. According to the manufacturer, the cover keeps its shape even after a gentle machine wash.

Inserting the pads

Before sewing, pin the pads to the shoulder seam to try them out and check in the mirror that both sides sit evenly. The centre of the pad lies at the shoulder seam, the straight edge at the armhole seam, and the rounded side points towards the neck. Then sew the pad to the seam allowances with loose hand stitches. The fabric must not pucker on the outside, so catch only the allowances, not the outer fabric.

Which size to choose

Size S is the smaller version of the half-moon pads. It suits cases where the shoulder only needs a little shape, such as cardigans or light jackets. For clearly defined shoulders, choose a larger pad.
