Prym Wool Comb – Remove Bobbles and Fluff from Tightly Knitted Wool

The Prym wool comb (art. no. 611733) refreshes garments made of tightly knitted wool. The head, made of a rough metal grille, combs matted and knotty fibres out of the knitting. The comb works purely mechanically, so you need no batteries and no electricity.

The head is approx. 7 cm wide, and the plastic handle is rounded and sits comfortably in the hand. At 45 × 75 mm, the comb is small enough to fit in a handbag.

How to remove bobbles

Lay the knitted piece on a firm, smooth surface, such as a table. Hold the comb straight and draw it over the knitting in one direction with even pressure. The metal grille catches the bobbles and loose fibres. Work strip by strip and do not press too hard, so that you do not strain the fabric.

Which knitwear is it suitable for?

The wool comb is intended for tightly knitted wool, such as firm jumpers or waistcoats. It is not intended for loosely hand-knitted items or fluffy wool, because the grille can catch stitches there. If in doubt, try it first on an inconspicuous area.
