Prym black iron-on repair fabric – mend tears and holes in polyester

With Prym repair fabric (art. no. 929450) you can mend tears and holes in polyester clothing and lightweight fabrics. The fabric is 100% polyester, black and iron-on. A spot adhesive coating holds it firmly on the garment, according to Prym.

The card contains one piece measuring 12 × 45 cm. You can cut several patches from it in the size you need. The repair fabric is washable up to 40 °C, so the repair will withstand normal washing.

Mending a hole

Cut the patch so that it clearly covers the hole all the way round. Rounded corners are less likely to lift when worn and washed. Place the patch on the damaged area from the inside, adhesive side against the fabric, and iron it on following the care label of the garment. Polyester is sensitive to heat, so it is best to use a pressing cloth and to test the temperature first on an inconspicuous spot.

Areas under heavy strain

On knees and elbows, the patch should also be sewn on with a few stitches so that it withstands the strain.
