Prym Comfort Twist Knitting Mill – Make Knitted Cord with a Crank

The Prym Comfort Twist knitting mill (art. no. 624181) knits cord in any colour you like at the turn of a crank. Thread in the yarn and start cranking. The mill can be fixed to a table, so it stays steady while you crank.

The weight supplied gives the growing tube the tension it needs. You can attach it anywhere along the knitted piece. For transport, clip it onto the lower part of the knitting mill. Detailed instructions are included in the pack.

Using the knitting mill

First fix the knitting mill to the table so that it does not move while you crank. Thread in the yarn as shown in the instructions supplied and turn the crank. As soon as the tube gets longer, attach the weight to it: it pulls the knitting downwards and keeps it under tension. You can attach the weight at any point along the tube and move it up as you keep knitting.

Things to bear in mind

The crank turns in both directions. Choose one direction and stick to it until the tube is finished. For transport and storage, clip the weight onto the lower part of the mill. That way it does not get lost and the knitting mill stays compact. You can use the finished tubes as cord or ribbon for decorations and craft projects, for example.
