Ricorumi Lamé by Rico Design is a glitter yarn made from 62% polyester and 38% polyamide, developed according to the manufacturer specially for crocheted amigurumi figures. It adds shiny accents without covering the whole project in glitter.

One ball weighs 10 g and has a length of 50 m, a handy amount for small details and embellishments. That works out at 500 m per 100 g. Rico Design gives the yarn weight as DK. According to the manufacturer, the lamé yarn combines well with the standard colours of the Ricorumi range. Choose your colour from the options.

Uses for the glitter yarn

Ricorumi Lamé is suitable for anything you want to sparkle on your amigurumi, for example stars, wings, bows, crowns or small accessories for figures. As a ball holds only 10 g, it is best planned for details or individual parts. For larger body parts, combine it with a standard yarn from the Ricorumi range in a matching colour. If you would like to crochet a whole piece in a glittery look, allow for several balls accordingly.

Working and care

The manufacturer recommends a needle size of 2.5–3.5 mm. Amigurumi is usually crocheted fairly tightly so that the stuffing does not show through. What matters is the tension given in your pattern; the figure on the ball band is only a guide. Finished pieces can be washed at 30 °C on a delicate cycle.
