Go Handmade Couture is a soft, fluffy fancy yarn with a fur-like look, made from 100 % acrylic for knitting and crochet projects. One ball weighs 50 g and has a length of 50 m. Choose your colour from the options.

According to the manufacturer, the yarn is certified to OEKO-TEX® Standard 100 (no. 22.HCN.95901) and tested for AZO. That is useful to know for yarn used for soft toys and for accessories worn close to the skin. The yarn is machine washable at 40 °C.

What to use Couture for

Hobbii, the company that owns the Go Handmade brand, recommends the yarn for teddy bears and animals with "fur" as well as for glamorous accents. The fluffy surface gives figures a fur-like appearance. Used as an accent in accessories, it adds texture to simple patterns. As the yarn itself has plenty of texture, smooth stitch patterns such as stocking stitch or double crochet work best.

Planning your project

With 50 m per ball, the yarn has a short length, so allow for several balls for larger pieces. Buy them all at the same time if possible, so that the colour stays consistent. With fluffy fancy yarns the individual stitches are hard to see. Work in good light and count stitches and rows regularly. To test it, knit a tension swatch with 4–5 mm needles. According to the manufacturer, this gives 17 stitches and 17 rows over 10 × 10 cm. What matters is the tension given in your pattern; the figure on the ball band is only a guide.
