Royal Talens recommends the paper for interference and metallic watercolour paints, which glow particularly strongly on black. Opaque paints and gouache also show up well on it. It is also suitable for acrylic ink and pencil.

Working on black paper

Transparent watercolours lose much of their effect on black because the dark surface shows through. Opaque paints, gouache and metallic and interference paints, on the other hand, give strong tones. Add light areas with opaque paint, as there is no white paper surface here. At 360 gsm, the sheet is sturdy enough for wet techniques. Test paints on an offcut first to gauge their opacity.
