Canson Sketchbook A3, 140 gsm, 20 sheets, light grain

Canson Sketchbook A3 – sketchbook with light grain and soft cover

The Canson Sketchbook in A3 format (29.7 × 42 cm) is a stapled sketchbook for drawing with pencil, coloured pencil, felt-tip pen and charcoal. It has 20 sheets, or 40 pages, of natural white 140 gsm paper with a light grain. According to Canson, the paper is acid-free, contains no optical brighteners and is FSC®-certified.

The cover is a black soft cover made from Iris® Vivaldi® paper. The large A3 format gives you plenty of room for studies, landscapes and figures. The sketchbook is also available in A4 and A5 if you want something more compact to carry around.

What to draw with in the sketchbook

The light grain gives pencil, coloured pencil and charcoal a good grip on the paper, so hatching and gradations build up well. Canson also lists felt-tip pens as suitable. At 140 gsm, the paper is designed for dry media; it is not intended for wet techniques.

Tips for use

Because the sketchbook is stapled, you can turn the pages over cleanly. When using felt-tip pen or heavy application, place a sheet of paper under the page so nothing shows through onto the next one. Protect charcoal and soft pencil from smudging with a sheet of paper between pages.
