Caran d'Ache LUMINANCE 6901 Permanent Colouring Pencils, Set of 76 + 2 Blenders

Caran d'Ache LUMINANCE 6901 – 76 permanent coloured pencils with 2 Full Blenders

The Caran d'Ache LUMINANCE 6901 set contains 76 permanent coloured pencils with a creamy lead and 2 Full Blenders for drawing portraits, details and finely graded colour transitions. The lead is soft and can be layered and blended, so you can build up shading and transitions step by step. The pencils are Swiss Made and, according to the manufacturer, meet the ASTM D6901 standard for lightfastness.

Important when choosing: the pencils are permanent and not water-soluble. According to Caran d'Ache, you only achieve watercolour effects in combination with SUPRACOLOR™ Soft Aquarelle. For details and hatching, the set can be combined with PABLO™.

Working with the Full Blenders

The blender is a colourless oil- and wax-based medium. You lay down the colours with the pencils and then blend them with the blender to soften transitions and deepen colours. It also applies a water-resistant layer and, according to Caran d'Ache, increases UV resistance. You can sharpen it like a pencil and use it for details, or use it flat for large areas. The hexagonal shape is 100% usable. It is also suitable for graphite pencils and Caran d'Ache wax oil pastels.

Combining and expanding

If you want to work with water, combine the set with SUPRACOLOR™ Soft Aquarelle for wash and watercolour effects. For fine details and hatching, Caran d'Ache recommends PABLO™ as a complement. With a large set like this, you can cover portraits, sketches and detailed drawings.
