Kreul SOLO GOYA Masking Marker medium – peel-off masking fluid pen for watercolour and hand lettering
The Kreul (SOLO GOYA) Masking Marker medium is a peel-off masking fluid in pen form. You use it to mask lettering, lines and motifs before painting over them with watercolour paint. The rubbery, water-based fluid is applied with the round tip directly onto the area you want to cover. The line width is 2–4 mm, which suits broader letters and motifs.
After application, the masking fluid dries quickly. You can then paint over it with watercolour paint or the SOLO GOYA Aqua Paint Marker. Once everything is completely dry, you rub the masking off without leaving residue, and the lettering or line stays crisp-edged in the colour of the paper. This lets you combine the flowing watercolour effect with hand lettering elements.
Working with the Masking Marker
First draw or write your motif on dry paper with the marker and let the masking fluid dry completely. Only then paint over it with watercolour paint or the Aqua Paint Marker, including across the masked lines. Do not rub off the masking until the paint is completely dry. If you rub over damp paper, it may roughen or the paint may smudge. Press the cap firmly back on after use so the tip does not dry out.
Which line width suits you?
At 2–4 mm, the medium marker suits larger lettering, broad lines and larger motifs. For very fine details you will need a narrower tip.
