Caran d’Ache & MIZENSIR Alpine Frost – 3 scented HB pencils with the Œillet Rouge fragrance

The “La Maison Alpine Frost” set contains three scented graphite pencils in grade HB. It is a special edition that Caran d’Ache developed together with the perfume house MIZENSIR. You write, sketch and take notes with it just as you would with an ordinary pencil, and the lacquer also carries the “Œillet Rouge” fragrance.

The fragrance is spicy and floral: notes of carnation meet jasmine and pink pepper. The three pencils differ in wood and colour: blue (poplar), turquoise (zebrano) and black and white (ayous). The design echoes frozen lakes and white mountain peaks in pearl white and polar blue. The set comes in a cardboard box with white and frost-blue geometric motifs, so it also works as a gift for writing and fragrance enthusiasts.

Who the set is for

HB sits in the middle of the hardness scale and is a versatile all-rounder: it is hard enough for clean lines and soft enough for sketches and notes. According to Caran d’Ache, the leads are made exclusively from natural materials. With three pencils in different colours, you can also share the set or give it as a gift without the pencils all looking the same.

Fragrance and appearance

The fragrance is in the matt-looking, scented lacquer of the pencils. According to MIZENSIR, the woods poplar, ayous and zebrano are reconstituted wood. Each pencil bears a silver hot-foil stamp “Caran d’Ache – Swiss Made”, and the pencils are manufactured in Geneva.
