Prym steel pins 30 x 0.60 mm – for holding layers of fabric in place

Prym steel pins (art. no. 024117) hold layers of fabric in place when dressmaking, sewing and crafting. They are 30 mm long and 0.60 mm thick, a common standard size for dressmaking. The pins are made of hardened, rust-protected steel, are silver in colour and come in a tin containing 50 g.

This size suits general sewing, quilting and patchwork, and craft projects. For very thick layers of fabric, such as several layers of bulky wadding, you will need longer pins instead.

How to pin

Insert the pins at right angles to the seam line, with the heads towards the edge of the fabric. That way you can remove them in good time as you sew, before they reach the presser foot. Do not sew over the pins with the sewing machine, otherwise the needle and machine may be damaged or the pin may break.

Storage

After sewing, collect the pins in the tin. The lid can be closed again, and you have all your pins together in one place.
